Jean Marie
McLain was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and
lived for many years in Delaware County. She now lives
in the Texas hill country near Austin. She is a student
of the Civil War and a reenactor of the period.
As Best We Could, set in the Civil War, is her
first novel.
