How do I get my book published?

One of the most exciting moments of my life was the day that I first held my completed published book in my hands. The sense of accomplishment, completion, and sheer joy isn't possible to explain. It's like trying to tell a single guy what it's like to hold your own child in your arms. We started this company because we wanted everyone who had been compelled to write a manuscript (or dreamed of writing one) to have this, once in a lifetime, experience.

Additionally, even if you've only written this book for your great grandchildren (for posterity), there's always a chance that it will gain a larger audience. Tom Peter's, the world famous author of In Search of Excellence, never dreamed that his book would be of interest to the millions that have read and learned from it, Anne Frank didn't write her diary with even a thought of the millions that would ultimately be inspired by it. You wrote your manuscript because you have a story to tell or message to share, you've some idea as to whom might be interested, now it's time to publish and you have some difficult choices ahead of you. Will you try to get an agent and go with a Traditional Publisher? Or, will you try the self-publishing route? We will be glad to provide you with the information you need to make this difficult decision, there is neither cost nor obligation involved. We are to help and have plenty of references to support that contention.

Note: If you want more information about book publishing and why you should (or shouldn't) publish, check out Brad Fregger's book, Why Publish?

Initial Conversation

Groundbreaking Press professionals are glad to share insights about the changing nature of the book-publishing industry and what it means for authors. The pros and cons of self-publishing and traditional publishers are discussed, as well as, of course, the services that Groundbreaking Press provides to authors. All of your questions will be answered with honesty and sincerity.

We don't charge for this service, nor do we share your contact information with anyone. In addition, once the conversation is over, we won't bother you to make a decision. We believe the decision is yours and that you will make it when you are ready to. Of course, we hope you will decide to use our services, but, should you choose not to, we still wish you all the luck in the world with your book.

To arrange for this conversation, give us a call.

At this time we will determine if you are ready to have your manuscript go through our in-depth analysis.

After the Conversation

After the call, we will want to evaluate your manuscript to see if it is ready for our services. Since we do an in-depth analysis and then report back to you regarding specific issues, there is a charge for this service: $500.

By the way, our base price (most books fit in this price range) to take your manuscript to finished book is $8,900. This includes complete editing, copyediting, design, proofing, and publishing services. In addition, we offer excellent distribution for the beginning author; Internet (Amazon, B&N, etc) and bookstore special orders. The entire production, publishing, and distribution process will be explained in the initial conversation.
