Dr. Pevoto is currently a member of the faculty of The School of Management  and Business at St. Edward’s University.   He has also taught courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels at Regis University, Denver, Colorado, and the University of Houston, Houston, Texas.

In addition to his university-level teaching, over 20 years in the corporate sector as a corporate training director and vice-president of personnel for two major financial institutions.  Over the past 30 years, Allan has created numerous learning experiences to assist company leaders and managers to better lead their respective organizations. These activities include one-on-one coaching as well as small and large group presentations.  While working with organizations such as IBM, AT&T, Coors Brewing Company, The Ball Corporation, Elf Atochem, and others he has been involved in the development of customized programs such as Training and Assessing Trainers; Developing High Performance Work Teams; Management and Organization Development; Career Planning;  Managing Transitions and Change; Developing Mentors,  etc.  Recently Dr. Pevoto worked with a group of managers from a local long term care facility in creating and implementing a set of strategies to incorporate the concepts from the book, Good to Great in their organization.

Dr. Pevoto’s university-level teaching has included graduate courses in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Organization Behavior, Program Development, Managing the Training Function, Evaluating the Training Activity, and Adult Learning.  He presented a workshop on Strategic Marketing to a group of small business owners in Queretaro, Mexico, and worked with the City of Brenham, Texas, on a Team Development program for city employees. 

Allan Pevoto holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University, and a Masters in Designing Learning Systems from the University of Houston.

Allan was in the fourth grade at Danforth Elementary School in Texas City, Texas when the French freighter, the S.S. Grand Camp, exploded causing one of the largest disasters ever in the state of Texas and one of the largest in the United States. This book contains his story and many stories from classmates, parents, and others. Anyone interested in disasters and the impact they have on survivors should read this book.
